6. Bobby Convey – D.C. United -2000 MLS SuperDraft

Bobby Convey (born May 27, 1983) is the 6th youngest player, 16 years old , to be drafted in the SuperDraft (2000) by D.C. United. He also was youngest player ever signed by  the MLS. Played 5 seasons with the D.C. United, 8 goals and over a dozen assists.

During this time he sparked interest from English Premier League team, Tottenham Hotspur, a 3 million dollar move deal with the MLS, but did not materialize; reportedly his work permit being denied due to his lack of appearances (46 with one goal) with the U.S. senior national team. July 22,204, Convey subsequently signed a 3 year contract with Reading F.C. from the Football League Championship ( second English Division). In 2009 the team released Convey, during his time there he scored 7 goals and 98 appearances.

Convey, shortly after signed with the San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS, where he was crowned MLS Comeback Player of the Year. Between 2009-20014 he played in San Jose. Kansas City, Toronto, and retired in New York.

7. Jozy Altidore – NY RedBulls – 2006 SuperDraft

Jozy Altidore born (November 6, 1989) is the seventh youngest drafted player, 16 year old, in the MLS (2006) by the New York Red Bulls. In his third year with the Red Bulls he transferred to Villareal CF of Spain’s La Liga, at a fee of $10 million dollars. During his time in Villarreal CF, Altidore was loaned to another team in Spain, England and Turkey. In 2011 he left Villarreal for AZ Alkmaar a first division team in the Netherlands, where he scored 39 goals in 67 appearances. In the summer of 2013 Altidore signed to Sunderland, spend one and a half years there before returning to the MLS with his current team Toronto FC; where he has thus far scored 13 goals in 25 games.

Jozy Altidore has make appearances with the U17, U21,U23 and is  current a member of the U.S. men’s National Team; he scored tied a record by scoring in four consecutive international games for the U.S. senor National Team;he had a hat-trick against Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the opening game in the World Cup against Ghana he was carried off the field with a hamstring injury, subsequently ending the World Cup tournament  for him as a player

8. Fuad Ibrahim – FC Dallas – 2008 SuperDraft

Fuad Ibrahim (born August 15, 1991) is the eighth youngest player, 16 years old, to be drafted in the MLS SuperDraft (2008) by FC Dallas. He spent one year there then the next two in Toronto FC where he made his debuted to the MLS. There he struggled especially when the coaching staff was changed. He then played for the Minnesota Stars FC and AC Kajaani, a Finnish second division team.

Ibrahim began his international career with the U17 and U20 of the U.S. National Team, after not being selected to play on the U.S. senior National Team he decided to play for his birth country of Ethiopia; where he scored one goal in ten appearances.
